July 24, 2009 by Ambassador of Green

CTNGreen is very proud to announce the winners of its 2009 Green Excellence Seal for Green Education award. The award was created to recognize the contributions of leaders in the field of Green Education and the impact their efforts have had on the field of renewable energy and sustainable design. This year’s winners were selected from a large pool of education providers that spanned both public and private companies, non-profit organizations, universities, and government programs from all over the country. The winners were evaluated based on the measurable impact of the program on various aspects of the green movement, from energy efficiency to sustainable design.

CleanEdison LLC: CleanEdison is the leading provider of green professional accreditation training and offers courses in 47 cities. Their students have become Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professionals and possess the knowledge necessary to support the construction and design of green, environmentally-friendly buildings. To meet the needs of the rapidly changing and growing market, CleanEdison is changing their curriculum to dovetail with the US Green Building Council’s new LEED Green Associate and LEED AP credentials and have expanded their course offering to include Building Performance Institute (BPI). CleanEdison earns the Green Excellence Seal for directly contributing to growth of the national field of skilled professionals trained in green building practices. http://www.cleanedison.com

GE Energy Power Systems and Energy Courses (PSEC): General Electric, in addition to its many other functions, offers courses to train professionals in the management of power systems and energy. Though the courses have existed for over 60 years, they have been continuously updated with the latest industry trends, including environmental and sustainable practices. As a large multinational corporation, GE’s emphasis on green education sets an example for other companies. The Green Excellence Seal is awarded to GE Energy to encourage the continuation of green practices in GE and other large corporations.

MIT Professional Education: The MIT Professional Education Program provides training in the most cutting-edge fields of engineering and technology. Their courses on energy and environmentalism teach the policy and strategies necessary for the implementation of the newest sustainable practices. MIT’s combined emphasis on environment and innovation has earned it the Green Excellence Seal for Green Education.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL): The NREL is a government organization responsible for developing green education programs for people at all stages of life, from first grade students to working professionals. Through its comprehensive education programs, the NREL has enabled even the youngest minds to think about sustainability.
