RECYCLED ARTS SCULPTURE

March 11, 2009 by Ambassador of Green

Recycled Art in the hands of a master is truly a thing to behold. We found several such artists, and feature 2 in the most recent issue of CTNgreen Magazine

Mark Langan is an Artist who resides from the Cleveland, Ohio suburb of Brunswick Hills. Well versed and adept with numerous artistic mediums, he has concentrated his focus since the year 2004 by working strictly with a reclaimed material. A rather unlikely choice for which he creates fantastic sculptural works using nothing more than mere corrugated boxes, non-toxic glue, a razor knife, a cutting edge and mat. Artwork that is intriguing and unique because of its composition but also cries out making the visual statement… reduce, reuse, recycle!

Langan sometimes shies away and dislikes using the terms “green” but none-the-less, it is a term well suited by standards today. He’s been creating this Art using reclaimed materials before the fashionable buzz words of “green” and “sustainability” became commonplace. It would be naïve’ for him to claim that he’s making a huge dent in reducing waste material going into landfills but as he states, “It is something rather than nothing.” His sincere hope that his Art displayed on this site contributes to the recycling movement by inspiring others to ask of themselves, “What can I do to help?”

Mark has had a successful campaign by marketing and targeting his Art to many diverse venues unlike your typical Sculptor. Those facets include artwork commissioned by paper, corrugated manufacturers, packaging companies, recycling firms, green industries, organizations and related events. His artwork currently adorns the boardrooms and lobbies from small to prominent firms throughout the U.S. Art that he is obviously passionate about and proudly states… “If you like this just wait, the best is yet to come!”

Donald Gialanella

Featured in CTNGREEN at http://ctngreen.com/2009/mar/?page=20

DONALD is just a bit dangerous. Working with recycled steel and shotguns, heavy metal cutters , high voltage welders and flame cutters, massive hammers and grinders is not for the lame and weak.

And his art is BIG. 5-6 Feet is normal it seems - all the way up to massive outdoor works 2 stories tall.

Gialanella has exhibited in sculpture parks, public spaces, museums and galleries. His work is met with enthusiasm and cherished by private collectors who have commissioned and procured pieces for their homes and collections throughout the United States and around the world. Personalities as diverse as Uri Geller, Howard Stern, Angelina Jolie, Jimmy Buffet, Chairman of U.S. Airways Express Jonathan Ornstein, TV host Dr. Keith Ablow, and Owner ofThe Atlantic Monthly David G. Bradley, own Gialanella sculptures.

Member of the Sculptors Guild NYC, Member of Audubon Artists, National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, Biographical Encyclopedia of American Artists, Who’s Who in American Art, Who’s Who in the East, Men of Achievement, Dictionary of International Biography and Strathmore’s Who’s Who.

We think this recycled art is amazing, world-class stuff.
