CTN GREEN PRESSROOM …
August 27, 2008 by editor · Leave a Comment
This 2008 political year is unlike any other in the history of the planet. It is the first time ever where Green / Sustainable Energy / Eco-Issues have had a forefront position in candidate attention and public desire for change. Is this, in some ways, the Year of the Green Candidate? We shall see.
Among the greenest situations we could uncover were the efforts of The Creative Coalition and Bank of America’s 20 billion dollar ongoing ten year green initiative. We were at the DNC in Denver and fortunate to attend the award presentation to Bank of America by the Creative Coalition.

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION COVERAGE

CTN Green chose this opportunity to discover what GREEN thinking was available at the DNC in Denver. Al Gore spoke eloquently, of course, but a welcomed presence was also The Creative Coalition, who used this timely opportunity to give Bank of America an award for it’s 20 billion dollar Green Initiative.
Neal Gray of CTN met and interviewed many great people involved in that green endeavor, about which we shall write in a separate article.
The DNC did not devote as much time to environmental emphasis at this event as we would have hoped apart from Al Gore delivering a great message on Thursday.

Going Green
The Greening of the American consumer… is underway, and the message from some politicians is: … energy sources need to take a new direction.
But for many of us, the green thing is welcomed, the promise of better by green is popping up everywhere, giving a good chance to pursue great ideas that were dismissed in the past.

What’s on TAP?
August 19, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
CTN Green makes every effort to be different, and in that process we look around a lot at chats and sites… and found this: www.dothegreenthing.com , a nonprofit hailing from England and Wales. A classic UK sense of humor prevails in the video they produced… Very Different.
Green Thing was delighted to learn of the latest brand to enter the fiercely competitive world of bottled water. Its name is Tap, and it’s on a mission to get us to re-think our drink.
Joshua Blackburn, Tap’s founder, said:
“The bottled water industry is the triumph of marketing over common sense, It has become a symbol of our disposable culture at its worst. In countries such as Britain, where high quality water is literally on tap, it’s time to bin the bottle. We’re going to make Tap the coolest, smartest and most stylish consumer accessory going, proving that doing good can feel good too.”
Take a look at some reasons to drink tap here. As Josh says, “It’s short, sweet and fairly to the point - but i think it’s quite cute.”

Fashion Week Sports the MARC JACOBS Line
We’re in a car on our way to the Marc Jacobs show, which closes New York fashion week. I know, I know, they’re always ridiculously late but I have it on good authority that tonight — get this — may even start on time.

BETA ARTICLE: The Diesel solution with 25% more efficiency is a celebrity ride: BLUETEC.
Launching a premium SUV—even one powered by diesel—takes something of a leap of faith. And the company ready to leap right now is Mercedes-Benz. Their SUVs and crossovers, the five-seater ML-Class, the seven-passenger GL-Class and the six-seater (with an option for seven) R-Class, now get the option of a 50-state-legal diesel engine: the 320 CDI Bluetec. Benz officials have faith that the high current costs of diesel is an anomaly that will right itself in good time. As diesel fans, we certainly hope so, a 30mpg SUV sounds right to me.
Across winding two-laners here, we recently put the pedal down on the full range of V6 diesel Mercedes-Benz SUVs—ML, GL and R—to find out which ones make the most compelling case for hauling capability, without instilling the fear of a lease for yet another rig with a gas-guzzling V8.
